Proprietary Equipment
Ripple Tray™ Technology
Shaw's high-capacity Ripple Trays are self-adjusting trays used to combat liquid and vapor fouling and increase production capacity. The Ripple Tray's inherent ability to optimize liquid and vapor handling has resulted in significant capacity increases when compared to conventional trays.
The Shaw Vapor Flute™
Shaw's proprietary Vapor Flute™, an important component of nearly every Quench Oil or Quench Water tower revamp project, increases operational efficiency by acting as a first line of defense against liquids and coke that enter the tower. The device creates a very flat velocity profile that separates a majority of liquids and coke before they have a chance to enter the tower trays. The combined effects of inlet stream smoothing and separation increases the efficiency of tower operation. Additionally, the device's anti-coking ability reduces maintenance of the tower's trays. Shaw custom designs the Vapor Flute™ for every project using computational fluid dynamics.
Quench Fitting Technology
Shaw's Quench Fitting technology is a unique device that provides high-efficiency, direct-contact quenching of furnace effluent gas with a process hydrocarbon liquid stream to obtain the desired mixing, quickly and completely.
Anti-Coking Heavy Feed Mixer™
Shaw's Anti-Coking Heavy Feed Mixer™ completely vaporizes heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks using a unique patented anti-coking design. This design greatly minimizes the coking tendency and required length of mixing chamber, thus reducing the upfront capital costs and periodic maintenance of the furnace convection section as much as possible.
