Shaw’s Safety Awards & Recognition

  • Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance Inc. (GBRIA) Excellent Safety Performance Award: Shaw received this award presented to companies that have demonstrated a level of safety excellence including thousands and millions of hours worked without injury.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Commanders Safety Award: The Corp’s Omaha District presented this award to Shaw for its work on the Eureka Mills project. Shaw was selected from more than 700 contractors who performed in excess of $2 billion of work in the district. The award is presented each year to a contractor working in the district who exemplifies excellence in safety performance.
  • Alabama Department of Industrial Relations 2010 Alabama Governor Safety Award of Excellence: The Alabama Department of Labor presented this award to Shaw for exceptional safety performance during the year.
  • Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award: CURT honored Shaw with its most prestigious annual award in safety excellence. The award is given annually to the best-in-class company that exhibits the most outstanding overall achievements and innovation in construction safety.
  • National Safety Council 2010 Rising Stars of Safety Award: This award, which recognizes individuals who distinguished themselves by improving workplace safety, was presented to an employee in the Plant Services Division of Shaw’s Power Group.
  • Savannah River Site Environmental Stewardship Award: Shaw AREVA MOX Services received this honor for Sustainable Environmental Projects for achieving the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design certification for the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility’s administrative building.
  • Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Health and Safety Award: Shaw received RoSPA’s President’s Award in recognition for 10 years of continuous RoSPA Gold Medal Occupational Safety Awards.
