Equipment

Shaw has one of the largest inventories of response equipment in the industry. We own over 2,700 pieces of equipment and response vehicles valued at over $100 million and perform the majority of our own equipment and vehicle maintenance. Effective response to natural disasters requires a comprehensive equipment and materials management strategy. Shaw can provide the required geographic coverage by using a combination of strategically located Shaw operations centers and third party equipment and material suppliers. These resources provide Shaw with tremendous flexibility to deploy high quality, well-maintained equipment and materials to multiple response locations throughout the Region. Our baseline operating philosophy is to deploy resources from sources with the closest proximity to the project site, whether the source is a Shaw operations center or a third party rental agency or supplier.

Shaw maintains an extensive inventory of equipment. This inventory includes vehicles, heavy construction equipment, trailers, and support items such as generators, compressors, safety meters/monitors, and personal protective equipment. Our equipment inventory is maintained at many of our facilities and equipment yards nationwide and is managed through an extensive resource tracking system. Emergencies throughout the United States are serviced routinely through rapid deployment of Shaw-owned and maintained remediation equipment.
