Shaw Donates $295,783 to September 11th Fund
BATON ROUGE, La., Dec 18, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Shaw Group Inc. (NYSE: SGR) ("Shaw" or "the Company") today announced that the Company will donate $295,783.35 to the "United Way September 11th Fund" established to provide assistance to those affected by the recent tragedy in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.

In September, the Company announced that it would match all funds raised by Baton Rouge Area Shaw employees for the Capital Area United Way ("CAUW") 2001 Campaign, on a dollar for dollar basis and donate that amount to the September 11th Fund ("the Fund"). Shaw employees raised an impressive $276,275.35 for CAUW and this is the amount the Company will match to donate to the Fund. In addition, $19,508 was donated directly to the September 11th Fund from various Company-wide employee campaigns. Shaw and its employees were the largest contributors in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
