Nuclear QA Program

Shaw Stone & Webster Standard Nuclear Quality Assurance Program (SWSQAP 1-74A) was the first architect-engineer-constructor Topical QA program approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and is fully responsive to the 18 criteria of 10CRF50, Appendix B and applicable Regulatory Guides. This standard program has been in use for 30 years, serving nuclear projects in all phases of engineering, design, procurement, construction, inspection, text, maintenance, modification, operation, and decommissioning.

Shaw has held ASME Nuclear Certificates continuously since 1971 and has held the National Board NR Certificate without interruption since 1981. During the height of the commercial nuclear industry, we applied our ASME stamps to piping system components at nuclear power plants such as North Anna 1 & 2 in Virginia, Beaver Valley 2 in Pennsylvania, Millstone 3 in Connecticut, Nine Mile Point 2 in New York, Shoreham on Long Island in New York, and River Bend in Louisiana.
