Clean Coal Projects
Shaw’s clean coal projects feature modern technologies, allowing clients to burn coal and opportunity fuels efficiently. Our air quality control experience ranges from installing scrubber systems on single coal-fired units to executing fleetwide retrofit programs, helping power producers provide cleaner energy for many years to come.
Brunner Island Retrofit Project
Shaw installed flue gas desulfurization systems at the PPL Brunner Island power plant, helping to remove up to 97 percent of incoming sulfur dioxide at the plant. It was featured as one of POWER magazine’s top generation stations in October 2010.
Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center
