Fabrication & Manufacturing Services

Shaw was founded with a focus on piping systems fabrication. Today, fabrication and manufacturing remains a core business. Our fabrication facilities located around the world are equipped with the latest manufacturing technology and production management systems.

A significant aspect of Shaw's fabrication capabilities is induction bending. Because of the quality, accuracy, and savings, induction bending is the preferred alternative to traditional fit-and-weld procedures. We are capable of bending pipes from 2 to 66 inches in diameter, with a wall thickness of up to 5 inches.

To ensure the overall quality of the finished materials, we manufacture and distribute specialty metal fittings used for piping systems fabrication, and produce pipe hangers and piping support systems for virtually any industrial environment around the world.

Largest Pipe Fabrication Capacity Worldwide

Shaw's pipe fabrication facilities are capable of producing an aggregate of 35,000 pipe spools (10,000 tons of product) per month. We have invested heavily in state-of-the-art equipment such as automated welding and bending machinery that speeds the fabrication process with greater accuracy and quality. Our seven domestic and four international facilities are coordinated under an integrated fabrication management system resulting in a combined pipe fabrication capacity unmatched in our industry. This unique ability enables Shaw to respond with multiple production facilities to support demanding project schedules while maintaining a single pipe fabrication point of contact for our customers.

Management Systems for Design through Delivery

Shaw continues to lead the industry in developing proprietary computer applications for design, interface, material control, production scheduling, and fabrication management. This commitment to the latest technology ensures enhanced performance and reliability in meeting project execution requirements.

  • ShawDrawTM is an engineering software tool that receives geographic, material, and specification information from a variety of engineering modeling tools (such as CAD, electronic model/design files) and automatically generates shop details and bills of material for piping fabrication.
  • ShawManTM is a management tool used for tracking fabrication through the engineering, procurement, and manufacturing processes. This software system also provides inventory management, pricing, and invoicing models. Through the use of bar coding, it tracks each individual spool at any point in the fabrication process. This system also facilitates accurate reporting of project status information to offices to project sites around the world via the Internet and email.
