Power Your Education Scholarship

Shaw’s Power Your Education (PYE) Scholarship recognizes college interns in Shaw’s Power Group who are excelling in their studies and provides them with educational assistance while they obtain their bachelor’s or master’s degrees. Each scholarship is worth $1,000 per semester for tuition and fees for a total of $2,000 per year. The PYE Scholarship is available to college or graduate school interns who have successfully completed or are nearing completion of a full summer internship with Shaw’s Power Group. The applicant must be a full-time student at an accredited college or university and maintain a 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

Scholar Intern Program

Each year a number of undergraduate engineering students from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Amherst are selected to receive Shaw grants that are matched with Massachusetts funds to provide full tuition to selected students. As part of the program, selected students receive paid internships at Shaw’s Stoughton, Mass., office. All applicants must maintain a 3.0 grade-point average throughout the program.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Scholarship

This national scholarship given by Shaw to the Society of Women Engineers is awarded to a freshman engineering major at an accredited college or university.

Internships

Shaw’s summer intern program offers undergraduate and graduate students hands-on, real-world work experience with competitive compensation and exposure to leadership at a Fortune 500 company. Interns are expected to contribute to ongoing projects and will develop an in-depth understanding of how their field of study relates to relevant business lines at Shaw.

Eligibility: All interns must be full-time students enrolled at an accredited college or university in a degree program relevant to their internship.

“I have always seen myself working for a company that is large enough to make an impact felt internationally. Shaw provides that and more. As a part of the internship program, Shaw provides each intern at my job site with two mentors: One is our discipline lead, and the other is a seasoned veteran with a willingness to teach. This is key to Shaw developing its next generation of leaders.”
